Meet Danny Glover - Candidate for Downers Grove Village Council

Danny and Sabrina

Danny Glover is a lifelong resident of Downers Grove, having graduated from Downers Grove North High School before attending the College of DuPage. Danny has quickly established himself as one of the western suburb’s most successful entrepreneurs and business owners, as he currently owns and operates Skuddlebutts Pizza and Catering, Party People Rental Company, and Ogden and Douglas Commercial Properties.

Danny’s passion and enthusiasm for his hometown led him to the decision to run for Downers Grove Village Council, in the hopes of giving back to the community that has given him so much. Danny’s philosophy for good government in Downers Grove is simple - provide Downers Grove businesses with the tools and support to prosper, ensure public safety remains a top priority, and utilize technology to provide residents with greater transparency and access to their government; especially now, due to COVID-19 and social distancing regulations.

Danny currently employs over twenty employees through his businesses. Danny has also cultivated deep ties throughout the community due to numerous charitable sponsorships and community events that he and his businesses have participated in. Recently, Danny has partnered with the Indian Boundary YMCA, Downers Grove Rotary Club, and Downers Grove Chamber of Commerce in order to assist these organizations with fundraising, and to put on events that create an inclusive and welcoming Downers Grove community.

Danny’s experiences as a lifelong Downers Grove resident and seasoned business owner give him a unique perspective on how to best serve the people of the Village. Danny understands both the day-to-day needs of residents, whether that be well maintained streets and sidewalks or well-patrolled neighborhoods to deter crime, and the bigger-picture perspective of building out a business-friendly Downers Grove that attracts new investment and development.

Danny has overseen major business improvement projects within his companies, in addition to running day-to-day operations. Some of these projects involve the implementation of new technologies to streamline services for customers and/or employees; other projects have included negotiating contracts with vendors, or working with other local businesses to creatively and collaboratively market their products and services.

Throughout his life Danny has proven his commitment to Downers Grove, his ingenuity and ability to quickly solve problems, and his willingness to serve others.

Due to Danny’s skill in business and his generosity, he has been featured in numerous local publications including: The Chicago Tribune, Neighbors of Downers Grove Magazine, West Suburban Living Magazine, Suburban Life, Daily Herald and more.

Danny has been married to Sabrina (his DGN High School sweetheart) for 2 years.
