Restaurant Owner Gives Back: Downers Grove Patch Hero

Danny Glover was nominated as a local hero for the many ways he's giving back to the community.

DOWNERS GROVE, IL — When times are tough, heroes emerge. We all know someone who's making a difference right now as we live through unprecedented times. Here at Patch, we've launched an initiative to help recognize these everyday heroes.

Danny Glover, of Downers Grove, was nominated by his sister, Jasmine Glover, for the ways he's been giving back to the community.

Provides food to community and promotes and facilitates philanthropy for healthcare workers

Why do you believe the nominee should be recognized or honored?
Throughout this Pandemic - Danny has promoted many other local restaurants in addition to his own. They have all come together to promote each other and that is truly beautiful. He has found innovative ways to raise money to feed hundreds of healthcare workers dozens of different times. These healthcare workers have expressed how incredibly grateful they are and how it makes their dark days a little brighter. Food is love. And Danny loves the community he has called home for the last 33 years - and it shows!

What's one thing you want everyone to know about your hero?:
Danny is extremely hard working and always looking for ways to help our community come together and thrive.
